Presentation by Mr. Francisco del Rio, Ambassador of Mexico to Argentina, the participation of Dr. Patricia Funes and Dr. Monica Gomez

The book is an effort of description, analysis and historical explanation of Mexico has maintained relations with the countries of South America, from the time of independence until today. Historiographical attempts to fill a void on various aspects of diplomatic relations, and intellectual-cultural population of Mexico and the countries of the South, looking for an overview and long term. Aiming to clarify the content and historical development of the interactions between the region and Mexico, predominantly in the bilateral level, but without forgetting the multilateral forum of interaction.

Maria Cecilia Zuleta es doctora en Historia por el Centro de Estudios Históricos de El Colegio de México, México, DF. Historiadora egresada de la Universidad Nacional de La Plata, reside desde hace más de quince años en México, donde labora como profesor investigador titular C en la Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana, plantel Iztapalapa, México, Distrito Federal, desarrollando docencia e investigación en los campos de Historia de México y de América Latina, para los siglos XIX y XX. Es Investigador Nacional (Sistema Nacional de Investigadores, México, CONACYT), ha publicado artículos especializados y libros en los campos mencionados.

Patricia Funes es doctora en Historia. Investigadora National Council of Scientific and Technical Research (CONICET). Regular teacher of the subject Latin American History at the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Buenos Aires. He has published numerous articles on Latin American intellectual thought and journals of the country and abroad. His latest book Save the Nation. Intellectuals, culture and politics in Latin twenties, Editorial Prometeo, Buenos Aires, 2006. She teaches graduate courses on Latin American history at universities in Argentina and abroad. Mónica Gómez

a degree in Economics from the Universidad Nacional de Córdoba and has a Graduate in Economic History at the Instituto Torcuato Di Tella. He earned his doctorate in history at El Colegio de Mexico. Teaches at the Universidad Nacional de Cordoba, Argentina where he teaches Economic History in the Bachelor of Economics and Economic History World Doctorate of Economics. She is the author of several publications on economic history of Mexico and Argentina. Susana Press
