Postmarks of Antarctic Station / Antarctic Station Postmark
On Wednesday January 5, 2011, at a press conference convened by the Instituto Antártico Ecuatoriano (NAIS) at its headquarters in the city of Guayaquil, organized to announce the beginning of the XV Ecuadorian Expedition to Antarctica was made official designation Dr. Johnny Jerez, medical officer of the expedition, in charge of the Post Office address in the Antarctic Station Pedro Vicente Maldonado. The announcement was given by Jaime Miranda Post representation of Ecuador, who gave postmark will be used in this unit of Posts of Ecuador.
The creation of this post office was an idea born in Guayaquil Philately (CFG) NAIS and supported by the positive reception by the post of Ecuador. Mr. Miranda in his speech emphasized the historic significance of this fact, which strengthens the Ecuadorian presence in Antarctica.

The announcement was given by Jaime Miranda in representation of Correos del Ecuador , who gave the postmark that will be used in this unit of Ecuador Post Office.
The creation of this post office was an idea born in the Club Filatelico Guayaquil (CFG), supported by the INAE and positively received by Correos del Ecuador. Mr. Miranda in his speech emphasized the historic sign ificance of this fact, which strengthe ns the Ecuadorian presence in Antarctica.
